I can't agree more with that essay!

I realize at one point that all the people who are my example in life, all the women who are role models for me are 99,09 % white. I had never stated that I am not a racist, because it's impossible to grow up in one of the most racist, xenophobic, LGBT+ phobic, white supremacism society like Bulgarian one. I might not be a radical fascist who hates people of color, but I have some prejudice injected in me by growing with racist parents and folks around me, who use the "N" word!

Of course when you are growing without having any contact or communication, never had met a POC in personal, and the only image you have for example is from the TV where the black people or other races are presented as inferiors, criminals, loud, annoying and dangerous. You will be with your one leg deep into racism's tendencies.

These days I just enjoy watching Pose, reading more on the topic and trying to be a better person and not to pretend how much of a "black ally" I am. Of course I have my whole human empathy for BLM movement and feel empathy for their struggles as humans, and as a trans woman I can relate to most of their inequality issues. Sadly, the POC's groups, communities around the world are really LGBT phobic on their own turn, just because the cycle of hatred works this way - the oppressed project their pain on other suitable minorities. So, I can say that this is a fuel for my fear and prejudice, which I fight daily and have the courage to stand and confess - behind or without standing behind a pseudonym. Because when you confess your "sin" it become less of a sin and now when you can see it in front of you you can bisect it and fight it!

I am not a racist, at least because I would never insult or discriminate against a POC... I guess! At least I am thinking about the issue and search for the way to deal with it.
